Tradition meets innovation: In 1949, senior engineer Erwin Müller developed the stapler as it is known today, and we’ve been continually optimising it since then. From the first stapling devices to the latest products that make work easier, the Novus brand is synonymous with quality, reliability and convenience. Novus through the ages

1945: Senior engineer Erwin Müller founds his metalworking factory in Lingen (Ems)
1946/47: Initial design and production of letter perforators
1949: First production of hooded staplers // first stapler: Lux, renamed to Novus shortly afterwards
1952: Patent filed for spring loading mechanism (“Press the button”)
1953: First hooded stapler with spring loading mechanism developed: NOVUS 53 // renamed to NOVUS B 6 in the 1960s and still part of the Novus range today
1950s/1960s/1970s: Numerous other staplers, perforators and stapling pliers follow, sales expanded to international level
1990: Patent filed for locking and release mechanism for the NOVUS B 7A stapler
1998: Patent filed for world’s first flat clinch desk stapler with rotatable anvil for switching between permanent and temporary stapling, the NOVUS B 4FC
2002: Novus More Space System division founded, portfolio expands to include monitor arms, storage systems and desk lights
2002: Acquisition of Dahle Bürotechnik GmbH, a company that manufactures guillotines, document shredders, presentation and conference accessories
2008: NOVUS B 8FC Power On Demand stapler introduced – requires over 70 percent less effort
2010: The NOVUS B 8FC Power On Demand stapler is named “PBS Product of the Year” by the stationery brand association Verband der PBS-Markenindustrie
2015: The NOVUS B 56 heavy-duty stapler is named “PBS Product of the Year” by the stationery brand association Verband der PBS-Markenindustrie
2022: Novus re+new product portfolio introduced: staplers and perforators made with recycled plastic
