For some, the plant hanger may well be a relic of the 1970’s and 1980’s – but for creative plant lovers it is a must-have or must-do: If you like plants but don’t have much space to put them, you can make an individual ornament for your home out of it. Suitable for a small budget, your creativity will know no bounds as it doesn’t take much to create a fantastic place for your favourite plant.
What you will need:

a round wooden board

two long pieces of thin rope or cord

an optional tassel

a hook to fasten it to the ceiling

hand stapler, e.g. Novus J-13 and fine wire staples A6 – 10 mm depending on the thickness of the rope/cord
Here’s how in easy steps:

The first step is to tie the four ends of the two pieces of rope together in a knot. Make sure that the pieces of rope are the same length.
Fasten the four pieces of rope to the wooden board.
Place the knot at the centre of the wooden board; the four pieces of rope will extend outwards from the knot in an even cross. This creates the lower part of the plant hanger. Fasten each of the four pieces of rope to the wooden board several times using the hand tacker so they stay in place and don’t slip.

Now tie the two pieces of rope together in a knot at the desired height or simply fasten them to the hook at the top just as they are and adjust the wooden board so it is horizontal.
Tip: If you like, you can fasten a tassel underneath the wooden board to make the plant hanger look even prettier.
